It was founded by the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc and is designed to provide young men with the tools and resources they need to succeed in life. Education ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT & MENTORING Club members receive academic assistance and leadership development at the elementary, middle and high school levels. This happens through one-on-one and group approaches to tutoring of Sigma Beta Club members and after school and weekend tutoring by Alumni and Collegiate members in various academic and professional disciplines. Additionally, Sigma Beta Clubs develop partnerships with local institutions, inclusive of colleges and universities, community colleges and trade schools. He is highly skilled in guiding cross‑functional teams, optimizing daily operations, and ensuring alignment with organizational strategies, policies, and long‑term objectives. Throughout his career, Brother Ferguson has demonstrated a strong ability to conduct quality reviews and audits, develop and execute strategic plans, and drive organizational growth through improved operational processes. His expertise spans product planning, purchasing, supply chain management, and business operations. During his decade‑long tenure as Senior Director of Operations at Xerox/Conduent, Brother Ferguson earned recognition for his talent in evaluating existing workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing innovative process improvements that enhanced productivity and reduced costs. He now serves as the Category Manager for Professional Services at CareFirst, the largest not‑for‑profit health insurer in the Mid‑Atlantic region. A proud Baltimore native, Brother Ferguson graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute before earning his bachelor’s degree in Management Science from Coppin State University. He later completed his MBA at the University of Maryland University College and earned a certificate in Management Studies from Harvard University. Brother Ferguson is an active and dedicated member of the Omicron Psi Sigma Chapter, where he has served in numerous leadership roles, including Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Reporting Secretary, Historian, and Parliamentarian. Equally committed to his faith community, he has been a member of his church for more than 52 years, serving as Chair of the Finance Board, Chair of the Trustee Board, Deacon, President of the Men’s Fellowship, and President of the Ushers. Brother Ferguson enjoys life alongside his wife of more than 20 years, Traci, and their three energetic children—Jared, Ashley, and Sydney. BERNARD TAYLOR Contact Brother Bernard Taylor Contact Omicron Psi Sigma Bernard Taylor is a law enforcement professional with over 20 years of experience spanning city policing, school resource policing, and university law enforcement. He is currently transitioning into work centered on advocacy, community engagement, and policy reform, drawing on a comprehensive understanding of public safety, social justice, and institutional accountability. Bernard holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and criminal justice and a master’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Maryland, with additional training in clinical mental health counseling, trauma-informed care, and the mental health needs of law enforcement. In addition to his public safety background, Bernard holds multiple technical certifications, including Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, and CISA, equipping him to address modern information security and public safety challenges. A Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist, he is uniquely positioned to support first responders and frontline professionals. Bernard is an active member of the NAACP, the National Association of Black Social Workers, and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and is engaged in policy advocacy through the NAACP Political Redress Committee. We are an Alumni chapter therefore the requirements include: Alumni Membership in Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. is limited to professional men who have earned a baccalaureate degree or other degree from a recognized college or university. Candidates of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. cannot hold active or previous membership in another intercollegiate fraternity, other than an honorary or professional fraternity. Candidates for membership in Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity must apply to a chapter in the region where they reside, based upon the terms and conditions outlined in the Fraternity’s membership intake and development process. COREY STEPHENS Contact Corey Stephens Contact Omicron Psi Sigma Corey Stephens serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Virtuous Inc., and their mission is to provide individualized supports to adults with intellectual disabilities to ensure they can realize personal goals, lives in communities that foster independence, and participate in rewarding and meaningful experiences within integrated communities and settings. As the Chief Operating Officer, Corey oversees the organization’s operational infrastructure, strategic growth, and team development. His leadership ensures consistent excellence across various programs, finance, administration, communications, and human resources. Corey is responsible for guiding the senior management team, streamlining recruitment and training systems, and managing vendor relationships and facility operations. He plays a key role in expanding fundraising efforts, refining Virtuous’ brand presence, and designing strategic plans for regional growth. Corey’s commitment to operational efficiency has led to impactful partnerships with external vendors, improving support services while reducing costs. Corey advocates for this population of people daily and putting their needs and wants first while ensuring impactful experiences for them—an achievement he’s especially proud of. Corey holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from North Carolina A&T State University. AGGIE PRIDE!!! He is certified in Employment Services through Virginia Commonwealth University, a Certified MANDT Trainer and previously served as a Support Broker through DDA Services. He is a Life Member of the NAACP and services on the Executive Board for the Harford County Chapter. He is a member of the Black Philanthropic Giving Circle of Harford County.
